Attending the 32nd Ordinary General Assembly meeting of the Cyprus Turkish Tourism and Travel Agencies Association (KITSAB), Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, President of the Health Tourism Council, pointed out that the pandemic has changed tourism and expectations from tourism, pointing out that travelers will turn more towards holidays that protect and improve health in the new period and are expected to increase their demands for “zero carbon” as well as safety and security in the regions where they will travel.

Reminding that the biggest income of Northern Cyprus before the pandemic was tourism, Ahmet Savaşan said that looking at the World Tourism Organization data, there was a decrease in the number of international visitors around % 80, and that there was a parallel decline in the TRNC.

Pointing out the importance of Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu's announcement in his speech at the KITSAB general assembly that he will come together with economic organizations, especially tourism professionals, in a very short time and that a plan will be made with an understanding of participation in the short term, Ahmet Savaşan said, “I believe that 2022 will be a year in which we will go to a better point in the economy than 2021, and the faces of tourism professionals and therefore the tradesmen, livestock, farmers and the people of the country will start to smile again.
